The KIS hospitality program is designed for risks whose primary business is a full service hotel or motel. We target national chains and similarly upscale properties, with an underwriting focus on well-constructed, well- managed and profitable operations. Hotels with casinos or hazardous activities such as horseback riding and winter sports, do not meet our guidelines. We can write them but would exclude such activities. We are not a market for sub-standard risks.
Minimum eligibility requirements are:
- Frame and joisted masonry construction must have a regularly serviced automatic sprinkler system.
- Hotels rooms must be accesible from an interior corridor.
- Hotels 20 years and older must have upgrades to roof, electrical and plumbing.
- Hard wired smoke detectors
- Compliance with franchisor minimum quality assurance requirements.
